Reaching Out

Have you ever tried to reach someone regarding business but been unsuccessful? Make sure you are working all possible options.

Recently, a small business owner from outside of the immediate Buffalo area contacted the place hosting the book launch for the Making A Point Book. She kindly indicated she had bought the book, read it, and had some questions. She wanted to confirm the date for the Book Launch.

Since the business owner hosting the launch reached out to me, we have tried the limited options to try and identify the person. Her name was not given to the employee who took the call, so therein lies the challenge. If only the employee had asked for contact information from the caller or the caller would have offered it, we could have reached out to her. Many lessons learned from this.

First, if you need information from a vendor or a consultant, try email, their website, a phone call. Contact them directly if you can find that information on their website and social media sites. Our contact information is all over our social media pages, the website, and the Book Launch flyer. Make sure to utilize every social media site the company or person has listed.

It is often difficult in today’s digital world to know which is the best method of communication. Some people still prefer in person, phone calls, or even fax machines! Others are more than happy with texting, email, Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn Messaging, or posting comments on their respective business pages. Research your various options and try them all if you need to elicit a response.

If you wanted to ask questions on our book, feel free to reach out to us directly on any of our social media sites, or digital options. In the meantime, thank you for buying our book and being interested enough to follow up, it is immensely appreciated!

Be well.
