Daisy’s Doghouse, Portrait of a Pet Store

There are few places that my dogs visit that elicit the chaotic frenzy that comes with a stop at Daisy’s Doghouse at 1448 Hertel Avenue in Buffalo. To feature Daisy’s in our current segment of Pointing About Town is to discuss pure bliss for the boys.

Daisy’s Doghouse was started in 2015 by Lisa Samar. Lisa had just retired from her corporate job as Vice President of Great Arrow Graphics overseeing operations and art direction for over twenty-five (25) years. At the time, her heart dog, Daisy the Akita, inspired her to open a different kind of pet store.

With her art background, she took pride in the detail of the colors and presentation as she designed the look and feel of the store. She has offered items for feeding and playing with your dogs since opening, including cat offerings as well as items made or created locally. The ceiling always has fun dog umbrellas hanging down from it and you felt like you are entering a place of joy and happiness, where you and your pets will be well taken care of and are always welcome.

Since opening, Daisy’s has expanded twice to adjoining tenant spaces and added a ‘Pup Truck’ for special events and large deliveries. . Her most recent expansion added an element that is not available anywhere else locally, to our knowledge, an in store Pet Portrait Studio.

You can bring your well-behaved dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets & more in for photos taken with your Smart Phone or, better yet, sign up with Katie Torgerson and have her perform magic with your pet portraits!

The themes for the Pet Portrait Room change every few weeks. We have had Holiday Photos, Valentine Photos, and now, Elegant Ambiance Photos taken, complete with a chandelier! The background colors are gorgeous and the props are never ending!
