Pawprints by Penny & Co., LLC

Today’s segment of Pointing About Town finds The Marquis de Lafayette at likely one of his favorite places on the planet - Pawprints by Penny & Co., LLC on Niagara Street in the City of Buffalo. The time he spends there likely has him considering it his second home, the more exciting and fun one!

His much older brothers, who have since crossed the rainbow bridge, started going to daycare at Pawprints back in 2006. So, he is the second generation of furkids in our household enjoying the many activities offered here. He plays, gets baths, swims in their outdoor pool in the warmer months, splashes in the baby pools inside and out, plays hide and seek on the playground equipment, and occasionally leads a cacophony of howling dogs in their rendition of ‘Who Let the Dogs Out’? In other words, this is his dream place. For a dog who has a lot of energy, all the available services and activities they offer create a canine utopia.

Pawprints is owned by Penny Lanich. She celebrates twenty (20) years in business this year! Her sons, Conrad and Kyle, have worked in the business much of their adult lives and are her managers. The company operates as a true family owned business among the three (3) of them.

Currently, the business employs ten (10) other team members and you can always feel their passion and love for the animals upon entry. They recently added another grooming room as that part of the business continues to grow. The more room for the dogs to enjoy their spa days the better!

Penny also gives back to her community by grooming many of the stray dogs finding themselves at the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter. Hopefully, her volunteer efforts there help them find loving homes. Penny also has been active in rescuing Australian Shepherds that are both hearing and sight impaired and giving them the best lives. Vishnu, Yukon, and Warlock are her current special needs boys. She also has several other rescue dogs that call her farm home. Horses, guinea pigs, kitties, goats, and chinchillas round out the many animals she cares for and loves.

One of the special memories I have of Penny and her team relates to their loving care when one of my dogs had left us for heaven. Her team sent me a sympathy card signed by each team member who interacted with them. The personal notes have been both reassuring in times of vulnerability and a source of comfort hearing about how each person had such special memories with my dogs. I still have both those cards!

So, if you have a dog and are looking for daycare and socialization, fun play, or to get on their list for grooming, please visit their Facebook Page, Instagram, or website at pawprintsbypenny.com. They can also be reached at 716-887-8300 and tell them The Marquis sent you!
