A Business Library

Does your business maintain its own library? Books can be a source of information, ideas, inspiration, and companionship.

We have been assisting a client assemble their professional library recently. It can be a humbling experience to face hundreds of books up against a wall. But if you have spent your career bringing along those books about your products, your services, your industry, it can also be a source of comfort and creativity. Never underestimate the direction a well cultivated professional library can take you.

While we understand today’s world is digital, many of us enjoy taking the time spent with a good old fashioned book. Even better if we can make notes within the book and bring the book with us, as needed. Taking that time to read, to think, to be inspired about how to move forward on a product, a service, a challenging client, is important to help you move forward and grow as a business owner.

Self-help books, trade publications, industry specific topics, successful selling, designing marketing, managing resources are but a few key subjects you should aspire to have in your library. Choose a segment that provides you with the tools you may need to further your knowledge. Its purpose is not to impress those visiting you but to provide quiet companionship and intellectual conversation in the comfort of your office.

If you do not have a professional library at work, consider assembling one now. And, if you do, buy another book. Sometimes the answers you seek are within a book cover.

Be well.
